Sourcing For Coastal Vintage & Coast Imports
I’m very excited to have just returned from a week of sourcing in Indonesia.
Unfortunately, due to the cyclone I had to postpone my trip to Java and missed the big international home and decor show and exploring the antique district of Jakarta that my husband and I had planned to visit.
Next time!
In the meantime, I discovered a few more hidden gems in Bali. This time in the back of the back streets, and in other areas of the island. This pot place was very inspirational and there will be some new designs of pots arriving in the next container.
There will also be some lovely old pieces of furniture, letterpress trays, rustic benches, stools, stone, string of buoys, demijohns, pots, old bowls and a fabulous collection of old maritime finds.
The collection includes a huge variety of old maritime flags of all different colours and sizes, a trio of old wooden ships wheels with brass trim, an amazing all brass ships wheel and the best find of all was a huge ship's lantern which originated from Paris, France.
It was also a joy to catch up with these four beautiful and inspiring women who joined me on a SallyO & Co sourcing adventure last September. We all stayed at the beautiful Kanvaz Resort in Seminyak. Everyone was busy with their own projects - either sourcing or/and creating new products, and the bonus was the amazing support and wisdom shared. I love that these women support other women. No jealously. Just kindness and encouragement for one another’s journey!
And finally, it was also a thrill to catch up with crew member Alice who was in Bali on holidays with her family. It has been eighteen months since I took the entire crew to Bali to celebrate our tenth birthday.
So Alice and I met for a cocktail (or two), and enjoyed dinner at a favourite restaurant La Lucciola.
Stay Tuned - Lots of exciting treasures to arrive in the container which will be due to arrive mid to late May.
